Social Skills for 3rd, 4th  and 5th Grade

Facilitator: Jaime Sanborn, M.S. Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Cost: $10/session – $60/total
Dates: 2nd and 4th Wed of the month
Time: 4pm – 5pm
Duration: 3 months totaling 6 weeks

This group is ideal for children ages 7-10 and will incorporate engaging, interactive components, such as Emma the therapy dog, to create opportunities for social skill enhancement. Ideal for a range of children including those who are shy or anxious, children with ADHD, ODD, ASD, PDD or low self esteem. Theory of the group is informed by “Thinking about You, Thinking about Me” literature.

Child must be referred by their clinician, either from NHC CBT or another office and have a release on file. Please call the office to arrange this, it only takes a moment.

Each group will run with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 participants.

If your child is of a different age and would benefit from this group, please reach out as additional Social Skills groups will be constructed based on need.

Trauma Center, Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Time: 10am – 11am
Duration: 6 weeks

This fantastic, evidence-based group is highly recommended for survivors of complex, or chronic trauma. Gentle movements and practiced stillness come together to provide an adjunct to the primary work being done in therapy. NHC CBT is honored that Lisa has chosen us as one of her sites to practice.

Client must be referred by their clinician, either from NHC CBT or another office and have a release on file. Please call the office to arrange this, it only takes a moment

Yoga for Peaceful Embodiment

Another evidence-based group utilizing gentle movements and practiced stillness to serve a variety of clientele. Recommended for those overcoming eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance use or seeking to engage with their body in with a new, healthy confidence for any reason.

Client must be referred by their clinician, either from NHC CBT or another office and have a release on file. Please call the office to arrange this, it only takes a moment.

Eating Disorders Group

Facilitator: Sarah V. Revels, LCMHC, NCC, CCMHC, AAT

Dates: First Thursday of the Month
Time: 6pm – 7pm

Our Founder and Managing Clinician, Sarah Revels is offering a safe space for those considering treatment, engaged in treatment, or who have graduated treatment and are maintaining their success to come together and provide support to one another. A topic will be chosen each month, based on the CBT-E model for Eating Disorder treatment and members will be free to discuss their experiences, ask one another for help or guidance and offer support to one another.

Note: while this is an ongoing group, it is not a “drop in” group, meaning it will be hosted on months when members have confirmed intent to attend. Client must be referred by their clinician, either from NHC CBT or another office and have a release on file. If you have graduated treatment please call to discuss the possibility of joining. Call the office to arrange this, it only takes a moment.

Teens Impacted by a Loved One’s SUD 

Facilitator: TBA-Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Cost: $15/session – $90/total
Dates: 2nd and 4th Tues of the month
Times: 5pm-6pm

This group is idea for teens ages 13 through 17 impacted by a loved one’s substance use disorder. It will incorporate evidence-based approaches, and expressive arts interventions. Youth impacted by a SUD often have questions that are hard to ask, or may struggle to figure out how to think about themselves and the world. Our group, lead by a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, provides a safe, supportive peer environment to process.

Teens must be referred by their clinician, either from NHC CBT or another office and have a release on file. Please call the office to arrange this, it only takes a moment.

Each group will run with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 participants.

Coping Cat – Beginner

Facilitator: Leigh Steinman – Master-Level Clinician
Cost: $10/session – $80/total
Dates: Tuesdays
Time: 4pm-5pm

A group ideal for children ages 6-11 needing support, and skills to manage and overcome anxiety. This is an excellent add-on to your child, or family’s primary therapy work. Children provide peer support to one another, learn about anxiety and build skills to get back to living a happier childhood.
