About This Workshop
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an empirically validated approach for working with mental health, chemical dependency and complex co-morbidity. DBT incorporates four modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT’s goal is for consumers to create a life worth living, free of suicidal, self-harm, self-sabotaging behaviors and to successfully navigate interpersonal relationships.

This workshop addresses the targets for skills training, as well as how to apply fundamental DBT strategies. In-depth clinical examples of the application of DBT procedures, assignments and homework review with consumers will be provided. This course will also prepare participants to work with clinical resistance and trouble shoot clinical obstacles. It is designed to enhance mental health professionals application of DBT in individual and group therapy models.
